My room was super and full of extra goodies; little things such as hand moisturisers, yummy cookies, shower caps and makeup remover wipes for us girls. The open-air bath was a big highlight open up your sliding window on your ensuite and step into a big deep bath. We had drinks and nibbles out there while looking up at the stars- very nice and the service was just awesome looked after by really special people."

"The rooms here are warm, clean, comfortable, colourful and maintained by hosts who really care about their guests as individuals. Each room has its own spa pool, which is easy and efficient to fill and drain and quite wonderful for a private, magical open-air soak under the stars. The hosts provide helpful information about local geothermal and Maori cultural experiences around Rotorua. They also prepare a delicious breakfast, delivered to your room precisely when you ask for it and respond to individual requests: We asked for breakfast prepared with New Zealand native ingredients and the hosts were eager to prepare us kumara patties instead of potato cakes with our eggs. This is a real gem among more overhyped and overpriced alternatives in Rotorua!"

"With two dogs finding motel accommodation can be an arduous task but Victoria Lodge makes it easy. Compact but perfect ably comfortable we’ve stayed before and we’ll certainly be back. The spa baths are excellent fun for all and my partner said “for a dog-friendly motel, it’s cleaner than most motels that only humans staying. See you next time!"
